Ask Tony and Marti Giacobe about some of their most memorable experiences living around the world with their two children, and smiles come to their faces. Perhaps it was the intensity of living near the DMZ in Korea, adapting to the local culture and bonding with the other Air Force families stationed there. Or perhaps it was the time they spent in Virginia, where they formed friendships that would last a lifetime. As they reflect, they realize that each new place brought unique challenges and rewards.


A Tradition of Pride
During the course of Tony's career in the Air Force, adapting to new places and cultures became a tradition for the family. It was a calling they were proud to accept as an opportunity to continue a centuries-old family tradition. Since their ancestors first came to America in the 1600s, members of every generation of the Giacobe line have served in the armed forces, from the Revolutionary War to the Gulf War.

With that strong foundation in family and military traditions and a sense of adventure, Tony and Marti approached each new place with a welcoming outlook and transformed it into a positive experience. "No matter where we went, we always made it our home," Marti says. While Tony's career as a fighter pilot took them around the world, Marti achieved success as an entrepreneur and business owner, serving as CEO of a multi-million dollar import business, the Chosun Gift Shop.

Coming Home Again
For all the places they had lived, though, Tony and Marti always knew there's no place like home. When they settled in the Cobb County community, Tony and Marti had an even deeper appreciation for the basic freedoms and opportunity of America. With their commitment to the traditional values of home and family, it was a natural match for Tony and Marti to serve others in helping them reach their goals.

Putting Tradition to Work
As leading real estate professionals in the area, the Giacobes have established their own tradition of bringing their experience, unique perspective and commitment to serving their clients. Having relocated 27 times and owned eight homes over the course of their 35+year marriage, they understand all that goes in to moving a family. They are experts at helping you get acquainted with the area and guiding you to all the resources you need to feel at home. Their expertise has helped families relocate from Sao Paulo Brazil, San Francisco, and Utah to settle in many diverse areas of the Atlanta metro, from Gainesville to Lithia Springs, and from Fairburn to Dahlonega.

In their spare time, they've captured their traditions of home, family and hearth in their book, "Beans Bullets and Canapes: Feeding a Fighter Pilot and a Few Other Boys and Girls". Published in Marietta, the Cookbook chronicles a twenty-six year military career, a tour of the country and bases overseas, and history in general, all from the front burner of a kitchen stove.

Community and Charity Work
Tony and Marti are committed to helping their community, and are involved in their local homeowners association having served as board member, vice president and president over a period of five years. Additionally they support such charitable work as organizing a year-long effort to make quilts for the children of "My House", a halfway house for children awaiting treatment beds or recovering from medical treatment. Additionally, Tony and Marti contribute a portion of each and every home sale commission to the Coldwell Banker CARES Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization designed to direct the philanthropic and volunteer activities of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage to improve the quality of life in the communities their sales associates and employees serve. The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage CARES Foundation is unique in that Coldwell Banker sales associates and employees are the primary funders of the Foundation. Each can select a specific pledge amount to be deducted from their commission or payroll check, and the company matches dollar-for-dollar the pledged contributions. In just the first two years of existence, the Foundation has already made a significant impact in the Atlanta community; raising nearly $370,000 and making contributions ranging from $250 to $20,000 to 116 different organizations in metro Atlanta. In addition, the Foundation sponsored a home with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity in 2006 — including the $75,000 sponsorship fee plus more than 2,240 volunteer hours by sales associates and staff to build the home.
